La Sera Pizza Pasta & Ribs is owned and run by Peter and John Koinakis, with Peter managing the store in Vermont South and John, the store in Diamond Creek.
Together with over 50 years’ experience in the hospitality industry the Koinakis brothers have built the La Sera brand to what it is today. Their passion for hospitality began when working in various takeaway stores their father, Steve Koinakis, owned while they were growing up.
Both brothers began working at Dial a Dino’s Pizza in the mid 80’s, not long after which they decided to purchase one of their own... It turned out that Pizza Hut took over Dial a Dino’s when the brothers were completing the final paperwork. They then became owners of a Pizza Hut branch, which soon became Victoria’s most successful. Over the next decade the brothers worked in and owned various cafes, restaurants and pizza shops together.
John, the younger of the two brothers, became the owner of the La Sera Diamond Creek store, where he has remained for almost over 6 years. Peter learned the ropes working at his younger brother's store and after a year opened the La Sera store in Vermont South, which is celebrating its first birthday at the end of this month. The brothers have just announced they’re on the lookout for a location to open their third store with the La Sera brand, and are currently focusing their attention on training staff to continue the brand’s values and exceptionally high standards...
